For more than 155 years, Geneva has met the need for a well-rounded education that integrates academics with biblically based values, teaching students to live out their faith in everything they do. With its scenic campus, diverse undergraduate programs, and accelerated degree completion and master’s programs, Geneva offers many opportunities for students to grow intellectually and spiritually. So whether it’s science, theater, business, athletics, education, engineering, or another field, a Geneva degree means quality and character.

History and mission
Founded in 1848 in Northwood, Ohio, by the Reformed Presbyterian Church of North America, Geneva was named in honor of the Swiss center of the Reformed faith movement. In 1880, the college moved to Beaver Falls and built a campus on land donated by the Harmony Society.

Geneva has emerged as a leader in Christian higher education, maintaining its heritage and fulfilling its mission to educate and minister to a diverse community of students for the purpose of developing servant-leaders and transforming society for the kingdom of Christ. It is the college’s goal to help students discover and use their gifts to the betterment of their workplaces, communities, churches, families, and society.

Location and facilities
Located about 35 miles northwest of Pittsburgh, Geneva’s picturesque 55-acre campus provides a warm and welcoming environment. The college’s size—about 2,100 traditional, non-traditional, and graduate students—means that its students have access to a wide range of educational resources while still receiving individual attention. Geneva recently completed a $6 million renovation of the Science & Engineering Building, refitting the interior and upgrading technology. Several residence halls and the cafeteria feature wireless Internet access. Over the next several years, the college will work with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation to relocate Pennsylvania Route 18, which currently bisects the campus.

Academics and activities
Geneva continues to lead the way in providing innovative and values-added education both inside and outside of the classroom. Geneva offers 35 undergraduate majors in fields ranging from engineering, applied music, and broadcasting to accounting, English, chemistry, and biblical studies. In recent years, one of the college’s fastest-growing areas has been its adult degree completion program. The DCP is conducted in 15 area locations including Beaver Falls, Pittsburgh, and Youngstown, Ohio. The program is designed for working adults with some college experience, and it offers majors in community ministry, human resources, and organizational development. Geneva also offers master’s degree programs in business administration, counseling, higher education, organizational leadership and special education,
But academics are just a part of the Geneva College experience. There are also plenty of student organizations and opportunities for spiritual growth, including a student senate, Athletes in Action, the campus newspaper, an FM radio station, a marching band, a touring choir, and community service projects. In addition, Geneva is proud of its many recreational programs, as well as the nationally ranked Golden Tornado varsity teams in football, basketball, volleyball, soccer, baseball, softball, cross country, track and field, and tennis.

Faculty
Geneva College has an excellent group of committed faculty members, which includes 83 full-time and 72 part-time teachers.
